Global Gathering – Mexico City - Mandarin

The Han Chinese are the world’s largest ethnic group, and although the majority live in mainland China, significant populations are reported in 62 countries worldwide. Less than 2% of the Chinese diaspora in Mexico are Christian.

Thankfully there is some receptivity to the Gospel. Most Chinese are either atheist or Buddhist.

The Mexico City Chinese Alliance Church has planted a Mandarin church with Cantonese, Spanish, English ministries to reach Mandarin-speaking Chinese professionals in Santa Fe.
The church has a vision to facilitate the planting of other Chinese churches in Mexico City and beyond. There is a growing number of Mandarin-speaking Chinese professionals living in the Santa Fe district in Mexico City.

Currently, existing Chinese churches are focused upon reaching immigrant workers and established local Chinese shop owners. This leaves a void for reaching Chinese professionals from mainland China working with multinational Chinese companies. As internationals, the average stay is about three years, thus the ministry format is geared towards reproducing disciples to take the Gospel wherever they might go with their profession.
