Burnaby Alliance Church - Mexico City

August 7 - 18, 2025 

This is an opportunity to serve in a lesser-reached place in Mexico alongside Mexican youth from Mexico City! The Mexico City Mission Mobilization Team is excited to host, seeing Canadian youth engage with Mexican youth, to serve together in a local community. Ultimately determined by the gift mix and passions of those on the team, we envision serving together in children's ministry (games, crafts, stories, and testimonies), youth ministry (sports, competitions), community events, and possibly even music ministry.

The plan is to arrive in Mexico City and join with a small group of Mexican youth from one or two of our local Mexico City Alliance Churches, for team building, training, and ministry opportunities in Mexico City, including experiencing (or serving in!) a church service. All of us together, will then travel a few hours to an indigenous community where we can join in serving by showing the love of Jesus through children's ministry, youth ministry, sports ministry, community events (like a BBQ), presenting the Jesus movie or other Christian movies, etc.

Mexico City is one of the world’s most populous mega-cities with an estimated twenty-four million inhabitants living inside an area of 750 square kilometers. It is situated over 7,400 feet above sea level and is one of oldest cities in the world. Mexican culture has significant influence in Latin America and the world. Although close to 90 percent of the people here would consider themselves Catholic and live in a highly “religious” context, few people in Mexico City are actively involved in the local church and have yet to experience the Gospel of Jesus.

Some of the hosts of our team have served in Mexico City for over 20 years, and also in youth ministry for over 15 years. They have travelled with their own elementary aged children on ministry trips just like these. They're excited to serve together with you!!
